Many years ago...in 1994, as a first-time marketer in the semiconductor equipment industry, Tim Pratt attended the SEMI Fundamentals of Product Marketing class. In the years since, he has helped shape the direction of multiple products, groups, and companies across many end market industries.
From spec negotiations to strategic planning, from the lab to the board room, from crazy new ideas to managing end of life programs, marketing in our industry is a constant, evolving, and multi-faceted challenge. With practical, real-life experience in all of these aspects, Mr. Pratt is passionate about helping others succeed along the way.
Mr. Pratt has created and led marketing organizations at various companies. He has served alongside and learned from the very best in the industry at KLA-Tencor, Xyratex, Veeco Instruments, and Applied Materials, where he currently serves in the role of Chief of Staff and Chief Strategy Officer, Office of the CTO. He understands from experience the uniqueness of various end markets such as semiconductor, photomask, MEMS, data storage, and RF filter manufacturing. Product experience includes optical wafer inspection, ebeam metrology, mask inspection, final test systems, cleaning, analysis software, automation, deposition, and etch.
In addition, Mr. Pratt helped create the cross-functional framework and best practices used by KLA-Tencor and Applied Materials to deliver winning products.
Mr. Pratt holds a B.S. degree from Santa Clara University and MBA degrees from UC Berkeley and Columbia University.
